Overview
Drinking water reservoirs or manholes of sewage pumping stations are usually located in hard-to-reach areas. Data and control cables have not always been laid with the construction of the systems to enable remote monitoring of the filling level. However, drinking water and wastewater networks can no longer be operated economically without being connected to the control room. To achieve this, all available process and plant data must be available and usable at a central location.
For this purpose, KROHNE offers a tailor-made level measurement solution with integrated wireless transmission for remote monitoring. The solution offers remote transmission of level, distance, volume and other readings via a licence-free transmission system (Radioline). It transmits digital and analogue signals (0/4…20 mA) as well as digital pulses. Its transmission range of up to 20 km / 12.4 mi from one station to another makes this solution the ideal choice for infrastructure applications. The range can be extended by the use of intervening stations as each station amplifies the signal to the control panel as a repeater. Latest encryption standards provide data security.
